Almasika x Elizabeth Stewart x Amanda Seyfried

The fourth campaign from RAD x De Beers Group’s BLACK IS BRILLIANT features Catherine Sarr, a Beninese designer from Paris, whose designs for ALMASIKA are inspired by her West African heritage.

Stylist extraordinaire ELIZABETH STEWART collaborated with ALMASIKA to create the BERCEAU CHOKER for AMANDA SEYFRIED, featuring ethically and sustainably sourced natural diamonds from Botswana. Amanda wore it beautifully to the TIME100 GALA in New York City on June 8th, 2022.

The necklace is named for the French word for cradle and pays homage to tradition, reinterpreting ancestral adornments to celebrate and become an extension of the natural human form. The designs are inspired by the people of the Great Rift Valley, where Kenya, Sudan and Ethiopia meet, and believed to be the cradle of humanity.

“Usually my work is quite gold-focused so I really felt inspired to make the diamonds the heart of the design. It’s also why I used blackened gold, to really make the diamonds stand out.” - Catherine Sarr

We further our IMPACT through a $25,000 donation by De Beers Group to any charity of talent’s choice. Amanda chose INARA to benefit from her participation in the campaign.

INARA is non-profit organization, founded in 2015 to provide access to life-altering medical and mental health care to children impacted by conflict. They are currently helping children of all nationalities in Ukraine and Lebanon who need medical attention and psychological help.

We thank Catherine, Elizabeth and Amanda for being RAD with us and we invite you to join us in supporting Almasika, buying jewelry that features ethically and sustainably sourced diamonds from African nations, including Botswana, Namibia and South Africa, and getting involved with the charities our partners have chosen to support.
