RAD for WOMEN with Eric Buterbaugh for Center for Reproductive Rights

Eric Buterbaugh LOVES women! He is RAD and his friends are RAD, so when he used his magnificent mastery of roses to create a stunning floral sculpture of a woman’s vulva, he called RAD and asked, “how can I use my art to support women?”

RAD knew how. This was a unique and organic opportunity to develop a creative and clever advocacy campaign for women’s reproductive rights. We called our super RAD friends at the Center for Reproductive Rights, the brilliant boss lawyers fighting all over the world for the rights of women to govern our own bodies. Together, we identified three immediate threats to women’s health and reproductive rights (see below), then collaborated with Eric to launch a fundraising and advocacy campaign to raise awareness about them and to activate people to protect the women in their lives. Because #ReproRightsAreHumanRights.

Eric created 3 inclusive colorways of the #RADforWOMEN “Vulvacious Floral Sculptures” and we sent them to RAD friends -- including Gwyneth Paltrow, Miley Cyrus, Lizzo, Kate Hudson, Jeremy Scott, Gabrielle Union, Demi Moore, Megan Thee Stallion, Olivia Wilde, Cardi B, Courteney Cox, Dita Von Teese, Elizabeth Banks and Laverne Cox – along with an informational tool kit about the 3 issues to share with their friends, fans and followers:

  1. Maternal Health Inequities and the inexcusable rate at which we are losing black women because of pregnancy-related complications. #SaveMoms #Momnibus

  2. Women’s Healthcare Protection and fighting for pre-existing conditions, which include c-sections, domestic violence, and breast cancer (!) SCOTUS will decide on Nov. 10th if the ACA is unconstitutional, which could cause millions of Americans to lose their health protections -- during a pandemic no less. #ACA #ActforWomen

  3. SCOTUS what happens if Roe v. Wade is overturned and the 24 states who could immediately act to ban abortion. #WeDissent #MyRightMyDecision

We furthered the impact potential of the campaign by inviting fans and followers to protect the women in their lives by sending floral bouquets from Eric Buterbaugh Los Angeles. 100% of sales proceeds from the “RAD for Women Collection” benefits the Center for Repro Rights.

#RADforWomen was a social first, product with purpose campaign designed to inspire, educate and activate the public to protect women’s reproductive rights using our signature culturally-driven approach to advocacy and the creative spirit of Los Angeles’s most beloved floral designer and perfumer.

Please join us in supporting the Center for Reproductive Rights, the only global legal advocacy organization dedicated to repro rights. They use the power of law to advance reproductive rights as fundamental human rights around the world. For nearly 30 years, their game-changing litigation and legal policy work have transformed how reproductive rights are understood by governments, courts, and human rights bodies. In the United States, the Center has been counsel in every major abortion rights case before the Supreme Court, including winning the last two major abortion rights cases in the last five years. They have also strengthened laws and policies in more than 50 other countries.
