"Fashion, Sustainability and The Youth Movement" with Cuyana for Future Coalition

We curated a RAD TALK entitled “FASHION, SUSTAINABILITY AND THE YOUTH MOVEMENT” to examine and connect the dots between the fashion industry, the environment and the power of youth.

The educational and aspirational talk was led by JUSTIN WINTERS (Co-Founder, One Earth and former Executive Director, The Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation), who provided a strong framework for the discussion starting with a deeply engaging state of the union on climate change.

She then led a robust, multi-generational conversation with award-winning Actress & Activist, PATRICIA ARQUETTE, youth leader and Founder of Future Coalition, KATIE EDER, actress & singer, RUMER WILLIS, environmentally-conscience red carpet stylist, PENNY LOVELL and CEO of Cuyana, KARLA GALLARDO, who each shared their stories and perspectives on achieving sustainability through their work and advocacy.

RAD used this opportunity to celebrate the launch of Cuyana’s first sustainable collection of cashmeres. As a fashion brand founded on the principle of “fewer, better”which reflects Karla’s upbringing in Ecuador, we were already fans of the brand, which encourages customers to purchase fewer but better quality pieces that they will love and treasure for years to come.

That’s RAD – as is using their resources and platforms to support a non-profit like Future Coalition, which they did through a donation and a #fewerbetter social media campaign that encourages less consumption, while continuing to raise funds for Future Coalition’s mission to support a nationwide network of youth activists dedicated to combatting climate change, increasing the youth vote, and ending gun violence.

Guest list for the dinner included: Tia Mowry, Garance Dore, Elsa Collins, Kayla Ewell, Noora Rooj Brown, Tierney Gearon, Logan Browning, Kilo Kish, Erica Pelosini, Barbara Sturm, Charly Sturm, Alisha Wainwright, Jodi Balfour, Jessica Kantor, Lizzy Mathis, and Lucy Fry.
